THE CONTRACT

Jasica and Nora are two women who share a flat and a strange and undefined relationship. After a long time, the time has come to tear down a wall that has oppressed and obsessed them: they want to break it down even though this has been forbidden by contract from the beginning.
“If Carmen had published The Contract when she wrote it, it would have been revolutionary. And perhaps she would have had to continue writing from prison, because it is a play in which two free women put words to their contradictions and desires, without fear or hope. Our staging travels through the otherness that the author proposes between these two women and the otherness that we (born in the 80s) experience with contemporary artistic proposals and with the socio-political approaches that this new feminist wave is generating. The occupation of empty space and the relationship that two bodies establish with it and with each other is the physical basis of the proposal. A pure work of actresses. Two bodies, the space and the word. The spatio-temporal relations support the resounding support of the word that becomes the centre of the staging”. María San Miguel
